Fremantle is a proudly progressive and welcoming community. We understand that the time has well and truly come to banish discrimination from our laws and make marriage equality a reality.

Simone is incredibly proud to represent a community where over 70% of people voted yes.

Simone and Labor never supported subjecting LGBTIQ+ people and their families to a wasteful, non-binding postal survey on their basic rights, but celebrates the emphatic verdict in favour of equality.

Now that the Federal Liberal Government has wasted $122 million to confirm what we already knew, Federal Parliament needs to legislate without delay for Marriage Equality.

As they have for years, Labor’s team in Canberra stand ready to do just that.
