Member for Fremantle, Simone McGurk, has congratulated local community groups Fremantle Education Resource Network, Waste Recycling Education, Hamilton Hill Community Group, and Hilton Harvest Community Garden set to benefit from a share in $242,657 worth of funding under the McGowan Government’s Community Grants Scheme (CGS).

Environment Minister Stephen Dawson today announced 4 grants $20,315 for projects in the Fremantle electorate designed to reduce waste, improve recycling and provide community education.

The Member for Fremantle commented, “these groups are a great example of a community group here in Fremantle which are committed to minimising waste, boosting recycling and protecting the environment.”

“I look forward to watching these groups use this funding to continue their great work in our community of Fremantle.”

“Groups such as FERN, SMRC, Hilton Harvest and Hami Hill Community Group are making a big difference and ensuring that our environment is protected for future generations to enjoy.”

The CGS is administered by the Waste Authority and funded through the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Account.
